BlackBoard 9 - Use Video Everywhere

This page will explain the Video Everywhere feature.

How to use Video Everywhere with File/Item content

Go to the course's content page
If you are adding a video to previously made content:
- Select the downward facing arrow next to the content you wish to add the video to.
- Select Edit from the drop down menu
If you are creating new content and adding a video:
- Select Build Content
- Select the Content you wish to use, either File, or Item, in this case
Select the double arrow in the text menu
Select the Record from Webcam button
- A new window will appear
From here you can:

Option 1:
- Sign into YouTube
  - This will bring you to a new page, where you enter your Google username and password
- Select Grant Access
  - This will bring you back to the recording window
- Select Record from Webcam
- Select Start Recording
  - Select Allow in Adobe Flash Player Settings
  - Keep in mind that your video must be recorded all at once - you can not pause or stop and start again.
- Select Stop Recording
- Press the play button on the video and it will replay your video
- Select Upload, or to re-record click Start over
  - Please note that your webcam videos will be hosted on YouTube but they are on a private channel
- Select either:
  - Play in place - this shows the video in the text area
  - Thumbnail - video opens in a new window
- Select Insert
  - This will close the recording window
- Fill in any other necessary information
- Select Submit

Option 2:
- Select the Browse tab
- Sign into YouTube
  - This will bring you to a new page, where you enter your Google username and password
- Select Grant Access
  - This will bring you back to the recording window
- This allows you to browse videos on your YouTube channel
  - To preview videos, select Preview next to the video you wish to preview
- Select the insert button next to the video you wish to use.
- Select either:
  - Play in place - this shows the video in the text area
  - Thumbnail - video opens in a new window
- Select Insert
  - This will close the recording window
- Fill in any other necessary information
- Select Submit

Note: you may need to turn off Edit Mode in order for your video to play properly, depending on your browser.
